Bill Shiles - Former Executive Director JGA of Central Florida

Dear Joel,

I enjoyed the time we spent together on Tuesday and am very impressed and intrigued by your Junior Golf Project. Finally, someone is trying to make the game of golf fun for kids. The age group that you have targeted is full of very impressionable children who will take away a positive experience from your golf academy. You seem to have found a way to mix quality golf instruction and education along with a wide variety of fun activities that all kids will enjoy.

Every year I receive numerous requests for my mailing list which consists of over 700 junior golfers, however, I rarely give it out. Many golf camps and academies around the country are making a killing off affluent targeted marketing and propaganda. I feel that your academy is being put together for the reasons and in the best interest of the children. There are not many of our youth that should spend their entire day playing and practicing any sport to the point of frustration of fatigue. By mixing in other activities you are teaching them that when the golf round is over they still have a life.

I will gladly help you in promoting your academy and in any other way I may be of help to you in your endeavor. I am interested in meeting with you in the future to discuss the progress and the future of your project.

As the Executive Director of the JGA of Central Florida over the past seven years I have come across thousands of young people that would benefit from the experience that you are offering. The best compliment I could pay you would be that U would not hesitate to send my sons to your academy.

I am enclosing the mailing list for the JGA and will continue to work at getting the mailing lists for the other 12 Jr. Golf Associations in Florida.
